The student visa is for any student who is under any language course or degree-related courses. The visa is granted for the duration of study plus a month after finishing the nominated course. If a student decides to continue their study, he/she may choose to extend their visas except in few circumstances.

1. All overseas students are required to take health coverage during their stay in Australia and it is one of the requirements when applying for their student visa. This can be done through school with the payment for the tuition fees.

2. Duration of coverage can be for 3, 6, 9 up to 12 months. Students can extend their health coverage before the expiry dates.

3. Generally, schools do this on behalf of their students, but students can choose to do it on their own. Just visit the nearest Medibank Private or their customer service centers. Submit the application form for Medibank and the Medibank card will be sent to the address after few weeks. (note: students need to decide on the duration of coverage plus they need to present a valid passport and enrollment confirmation.)
